Job Title: Final Quality Controller - Diamond Jewelry

Department: Quality Assurance/Control

Reports To: Quality Assurance Manager

Job Summary:

The Final Quality Controller (Diamond Jewelry) is responsible for meticulously inspecting finished diamond jewelry pieces to ensure they meet the company's quality standards, client specifications, and industry benchmarks. This role requires a keen eye for detail, expertise in diamond grading, and knowledge of jewelry craftsmanship to identify and rectify defects before products are shipped to customers or retailers.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

# 1. Inspection & Quality Assurance:

- Conduct final quality checks on diamond jewelry (rings, earrings, necklaces, bracelets, etc.) before packaging and dispatch.

- Verify diamond quality (cut, color, clarity, carat weight) against certificates (GIA, IGI, etc.) and ensure proper setting.

- Inspect metal purity (gold, platinum, etc.) and confirm hallmarking/stamping accuracy.

- Check finish and polish for scratches, dents, or imperfections in metalwork.

- Ensure gemstone alignment, prong tightness, and overall structural integrity.

- Verify engravings, sizing, and design accuracy as per customer/retailer specifications.

# 2. Defect Identification & Resolution:

- Identify and document flaws (loose stones, uneven settings, poor soldering, etc.).

- Classify defects (minor/major/critical) and determine if pieces require rework or rejection.

- Coordinate with production/repair teams to rectify issues before final approval.

# 3. Documentation & Reporting:

- Maintain detailed inspection records (pass/fail rates, defect types, corrective actions).

- Prepare quality control reports for management and clients (if required).

- Ensure compliance with industry standards (ISO, RJC, etc.) and company policies.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

- Experience: 3+ years in diamond jewellery quality control (manufacturing or retail).

- Technical Knowledge:

- Diamond grading (4Cs) and gemology basics.

- Jewelry manufacturing processes (casting, setting, polishing).

- Understanding of metal alloys, hallmarks, and gemstone treatments.

- Attention to Detail: Ability to spot microscopic flaws.

- Certifications: GIA, IGI, or similar gemological training is a plus.

- Soft Skills: Analytical mindset, teamwork, and clear communication.

Work Environment:

- Workshop/manufacturing facility or quality lab setting.

- May require magnified inspection for extended periods.

Performance Metrics:

- Defect detection rate.

- Reduction in customer returns/complaints.

- Adherence to inspection timelines.
