Job Description

Supporting Director: P

rimary role is to assist the director in all their duties, acting as their right hand on set.

Production Logistics:

T his includes tasks like preparing call sheets, scheduling, and coordinating with various departments to ensure smooth operations.

Crew and Cast Coordination:

Helps manage the cast and crew, ensuring they are where they need to be, when they need to be, and are prepared for their roles.

Maintaining Order and Safety:

A key responsibility is maintaining a safe and organized work environment on set, ensuring everyone adheres to the schedule and procedures.

Communication and Liaison:

Acts as a point of contact between the director, crew, and cast, facilitating communication and information flow.
Specific Responsibilities:

Call Sheet Preparation:

Assisting in creating daily call sheets, which detail the schedule, locations, cast and crew information, and other essential details.

Script Breakdown and Storyboarding:

Helping to break down the script into scenes and potentially assisting with creating storyboards to visualize shots.

Managing Extras:

Coordinating and directing extras, ensuring they are in the right place at the right time and understand their roles.

Tracking Production:

Monitoring the progress of filming against the schedule and reporting any deviations to the first assistant director.

Maintaining Set Order:

Helping to keep the set organized, ensuring props, costumes, and equipment are readily available and in good condition.

Facilitating Communication:

Relaying information between different departments, the director, and the cast.

Providing General Support:

Assisting with various tasks as needed to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the production.
Skills and Qualities:

Strong Communication Skills:

Essential for interacting with various members of the production team.

Organizational Skills:

Needed to manage schedules, call sheets, and other logistics.

Problem-Solving Skills:

To address any issues that may arise during filming.

Leadership Potential:

While an intern, the ability to guide and direct others is valuable.

Attention to Detail:

Important for ensuring accuracy in call sheets, scripts, and other documentation.

Knowledge of Film Production:

Basic understanding of filmmaking processes, including camera operation, lighting, and sound.
