of elevator systems. You will ensure that all installations are executed safely, accurately, and in line with Gilco's quality and compliance standards -- from receiving materials at site to final readiness for commissioning.
Key Responsibilities1. Site Readiness & Coordination
Inspect and confirm shaft readiness (pit depth, headroom, power supply, sill levels, shaft plumbness, barricading, scaffolding, earthing).
Coordinate with civil/electrical teams for preparatory works.
Raise site readiness checklists, RFIs, and non-conformity reports when required.
Plan site logistics for unloading, handling, and storage of materials in a safe and organized manner.
2. Material Handling & Verification
Supervise
receiving, unpacking, and inspection
of materials as per delivery notes and BOQs.
Ensure proper stacking, labeling, and protection of components at site to prevent damage or loss.
Report shortages, damages, or discrepancies immediately to the project coordinator/logistics team.
Track material consumption and balance components through daily log entries.
3. Mechanical Installation
Install and align
guide rails, car frame, counterweight, buffers, safety gear, governor, machine beams, and associated components
as per OEM and Gilco Global standards.
Fit and adjust landing doors, door frames, operators, and cabin assemblies within required tolerances.
Follow correct mechanical fastening, torqueing, and leveling procedures using calibrated tools.
Ensure neat workmanship, proper housekeeping, and waste segregation at all times.
4. Documentation & Reporting
Maintain
daily progress reports (DPR)
, installation checklists, and site photographs via
FieldCircle or mobile app
.
Record materials used, balance quantities, and issues encountered.
Report daily progress to the Site Supervisor/Project Manager, highlighting delays or dependencies.
Ensure all reports are submitted on time for project tracking and billing purposes.
5. Safety & Compliance
Strictly follow PPE usage and site-specific
EHS protocols
.
Adhere to OEM installation manuals,
EN81-20/50
,
IS 14665
, and Gilco's internal SOPs.
Identify and report unsafe conditions, near misses, or non-compliance immediately.
Maintain a tidy, hazard-free work zone and uphold Gilco's zero-incident goal.
Qualifications
Education:
ITI or Diploma in Mechanical or Electrical stream.
Experience:
1-4 years in elevator mechanical installationpreferred; freshers with internship exposure may apply.
Technical Knowledge
Mechanical assembly and alignment of elevator components.
Safe handling of heavy lift equipment and rigging tools.
Reading GA/layout drawings and understanding shaft dimensions.
Use of measurement instruments (spirit level, plumb line, torque wrench, vernier, etc.).
Key Skills
Strong discipline and attention to detail.
Ability to interpret drawings and execute accurate installations.
Familiarity with digital reporting (FieldCircle or similar).
Team coordination and polite client-site conduct.
Time management and ability to meet site schedules.
