Job Summary
The Service Engineer is responsible for installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of medical equipment at customer sites. The role ensures smooth functioning of devices, quick resolution of technical issues, and high customer satisfaction. This position requires strong technical aptitude, field readiness, and excellent communication with healthcare professionals.
Key Responsibilities
1. Installation & Commissioning
Install, configure, and calibrate medical equipment at hospitals, clinics, and labs.
Conduct equipment testing and ensure complete operational readiness.
Provide user training to doctors, technicians, and nursing staff.
2. Maintenance & Repairs
Perform preventive maintenance as per company guidelines.
Diagnose technical faults and perform timely repairs to minimize downtime.
Replace faulty components and ensure proper documentation of repairs.
3. Troubleshooting & Technical Support
Respond to customer complaints and provide on-site / remote support.
Analyze recurring issues and report technical feedback to management.
Coordinate with manufacturers or senior technicians for complex cases.
4. Customer Relationship & Communication
Maintain professional communication with clients regarding service schedules and updates.
Ensure prompt support to improve customer satisfaction and retention.
Build trust by providing reliable technical solutions.
5. Documentation & Reporting
Maintain accurate service reports, installation logs, and maintenance records.
Update CRM/Service software with call details and spare usage.
Submit daily service reports and feedback to the Technical Manager.
6. Coordination & Teamwork
Work with the sales team during product demos and installations.
Assist in inventory management of tools, spare parts, and accessories.
Participate in internal workshops, training programs, and product updates.
Required Skills & Competencies
Strong technical and analytical skills
Ability to diagnose and resolve equipment issues
Good communication and customer-handling skills
Basic knowledge of electronics, mechanical components, and troubleshooting
Proficiency in using tools, testing equipment, and software
Willingness to travel for field service calls
