Field Service Engineer - Generator Section (Ashok Leyland Engines)

Job Summary:
The Field Service Engineer will be responsible for performing installation, commissioning, maintenance, and troubleshooting of
Ashok Leyland diesel generator engines
and related electrical systems. The role involves on-site service support, fault diagnosis, repair execution, and ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
Attend customer sites for
installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting
of Ashok Leyland generator sets.
Diagnose engine and alternator faults (mechanical, electrical, and electronic).
Perform
preventive and corrective maintenance
on diesel generators.
Conduct routine checks on
AMF panels, control wiring, battery systems, and fuel systems
.
Prepare and submit detailed
service reports, inspection findings, and repair estimates
.
Coordinate with the service team for
spare parts planning and warranty claims
.
Provide
technical support and guidance
to customers on operation and maintenance practices.
Ensure compliance with company
safety and quality standards
during all site operations.
Support in
training junior technicians
and assisting in technical documentation.
Required Skills and Competencies:
Strong knowledge of
Ashok Leyland engines
and
DG set systems
.
Proficiency in
troubleshooting mechanical and electrical faults
.
Ability to read and interpret
wiring diagrams, service manuals, and control circuit drawings
.
Good communication and customer handling skills.
Basic computer knowledge for report preparation and documentation.
Willingness to travel extensively for site support.
Qualification & Experience:
Diploma / ITI in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
