Position Overview:
We are seeking a proactive, driven, and technically curious
Field Sales Executive
to lead the promotion and sales of
SOLIDWORKS Simulation
solutions across diverse industries. This is a customer-facing, consultative sales role requiring a strategic thinker who can bridge the gap between engineering workflows and business value -- even in the absence of a dedicated technical pre-sales team.
You will be responsible for identifying high-potential accounts, initiating strategic discussions, conducting compelling solution presentations, and managing the end-to-end sales lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead Generation & Prospecting:
? Identify and target engineering-driven companies that would benefit from SOLIDWORKS Simulation tools (FEA, CFD, thermal, structural analysis).
? Conduct market research, maintain prospect databases, and track key contacts in target accounts.
Customer Engagement & Discovery:
? Engage with design engineers, simulation analysts, and decision-makers to understand pain points, validate needs, and position appropriate solutions.
? Use probing questions and insights to challenge the status quo and highlight inefficiencies solvable through simulation.
Solution Selling:
? Deliver high-level product presentations and guided demos (self-led or with internal support).
? Articulate the business impact of simulation in product development cycles -- reduced prototyping costs, faster time-to-market, improved product reliability, etc.
Sales Cycle Management:
? Own the full sales process from initial contact through closure -- including proposal creation, pricing discussions, contract negotiation, and handover to onboarding/support teams.
? Maintain accurate records of all sales activities, pipeline status, and forecasts using CRM tools.
Collaboration & Strategy:
? Work with marketing, technical, and customer success teams to develop lead nurturing strategies and industry-specific campaigns.
? Provide market intelligence and customer feedback to refine positioning and product strategies.
Required Qualifications & Skills:
Experience:
? 3-5 years of B2B solution sales experience, preferably in the engineering, industrial software, or manufacturing sectors.
? Prior exposure to selling CAD/CAE/Simulation tools is a significant advantage.
Technical Aptitude:
? Strong ability to grasp simulation concepts (even without being a user) -- including finite element analysis (FEA), computational fluid dynamics (CFD), and thermal simulations.
? Comfort in engaging with engineers and demonstrating high-level workflows and case studies.
Sales Competencies:
? Excellent consultative selling skills, negotiation abilities, and confidence in handling mid-to-long sales cycles.
? Highly self-motivated, organized, and driven by performance targets.
Communication Skills:
? Exceptional verbal and written communication skills in English. Ability to simplify technical language for diverse audiences.
? Experience with proposal writing, solution documentation, and client presentations.
Preferred Qualifications:
Engineering background or education (Mechanical, Aerospace, etc.) is a plus.
Working knowledge of SOLIDWORKS or any other CAD/CAE solution is an added advantage.
CRM proficiency (e.g., Salesforce, Zoho, HubSpot).
