A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A FIELD RESEARCH CAMP COORDINATOR/ ASSISTANT MANAGER
In this remote research management position, you assist our camp manager with the operation, maintenance, and management of the Raven Camp facilities and staff. Alongside the manager, you complete a variety of crucial tasks, including ensuring equipment is maintained, operating equipment safely, assisting with camp flight support, maintaining proper documentation, and performing snow grooming. You also help provide orientation to all new arrivals, ensuring everyone remains safe while visiting the camp\'s remote location. To better manage the team\'s schedule, you help keep lines of communication open with the Air National Guard 109th personnel about any daily requirements they may have. You also assist with any peripheral Air National Guard 109th training support requests, including Arctic survival training and night flying. No matter the temperature or the weather, you maintain a positive, can-do attitude. Always ready to lend a hand, you assist your team with all aspects of camp support, including cooking, equipment operation, digging, camp construction, and winterization. QUALIFICATIONS FOR A FIELD RESEARCH CAMP COORDINATOR/ ASSISTANT MANAGER

  • 5+ years of relevant work experience OR a bachelor\'s degree with combined equivalent experience
  • Remote field experience
  • Wilderness First Responder Certification
  • Ability to work in remote and isolated environments
  • Ability to maintain flexibility and a positive attitude in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
  • Willingness to work in extreme temperatures and weather conditions
  • Valid US driver\'s license and passport
  • Intermediate computer skills
Polar field camp experience (Arctic or Antarctic) and cargo experience in polar environments would be preferred. Familiarity with remote power systems, generators, and flight support would also be beneficial. A Hazardous Material Shipping Certification and Incident Command System (ICS) 100 and 200 certifications would be a plus. Are you an excellent communicator? WORK SCHEDULE FOR A FIELD RESEARCH CAMP COORDINATOR/ ASSISTANT MANAGER
This position typically works 9-hour days, 6 days per week. This is a seasonal position that lasts from approximately late March to late August. The schedule may vary and is based on location, weather conditions, and work requirements. The ability to work varied schedules, 12+ hours per day, split shifts, part-time, early mornings, evenings, and weekends is required.
