About the Project
The project "Income Enhancement for Women in Himachal Pradesh" is designed to empower rural women by promoting pine needle handicrafts as a sustainable income source. It provides technical training, business skills, and entrepreneurship development for both existing and new women entrepreneurs, while also strengthening SHGs for collective growth. The initiative offers incubation support including branding, packaging, e-commerce integration, and exposure visits, enabling women to access diverse markets such as retail outlets, exhibitions, corporate gifting, and online platforms. By transforming forest waste into marketable products, the project not only enhances income and self-reliance among women but also addresses environmental concerns of pine needle forest fires, creating long-term social and ecological impact across 16 Gram Panchayats in Shimla district
