Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Fibre Technician to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of fibre optic networks, with a particular emphasis on high-quality fibre splicing.

Key Responsibilities

Perform fusion splicing and mechanical splicing of single and multi-strand fibre optic cables. Test and troubleshoot fibre using OTDR, power meter, and light source. Install fibre enclosures, patch panels, splitters, and other associated hardware. Terminate fibre cables to customer premise equipment (CPE), network racks, or distribution frames. Maintain accurate splicing records, labelling, and documentation. Ensure neat and organized splicing trays and enclosures - a clean splice is the bare minimum. Conduct site surveys and prepare reports. Adhere to health and safety guidelines and maintain a safe working environment at all times.

Requirements

Proven experience as a fiber technician or similar role. Demonstrated expertise in fiber splicing with clean, organized results. Proficient with OTDR and related fiber testing tools. Strong understanding of fiber optic standards Valid driver's license and reliable transport (if travel is required). Physically fit, able to work at heights or in confined spaces if necessary. Attention to detail and a high level of professionalism. Ability to work independently or as part of a team. Preferred Qualifications (Not Mandatory) fiber certification from FOA, ETA, or similar (Optional) Knowledge of GPON, FTTx, or enterprise fiber deployments. Experience working on live networks or in telecom environments.(Optional)
