Fiber Engineer

:

The Fiber Engineer would be responsible for leading the team in executing the following work:


Designers will be applying fiber optic knowledge and principles to assess and design distribution areas serving residential, commercial, and municipal customers

Design functions will include assessing what networking components are necessary, detailing and drafting designs, developing scope of work for installs, assembling part/equipment bill of material (BOM) requests, and supporting design discussions

High level design and detail design for full scale complex utility grid network.

On being the Fiber segment expert, one should guide and grow the team's technical competency.

Seamless communication with cross functional project stakeholders, team, counterparts.

Ensure project milestones are met on time through effective action planning.

Maintain the documentation of full project lifecycle including the design revisions, change management, preliminary, construction till as build, maintain the record of transmittal of these packages with client.

Qualifications

Required Skills / Experience:

Degree in Electrical Engineering (EE) or Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering (EXTC)

5-8 years of experience in telecommunication engineering.

Experience, certifications, or formal education in fiber optic products, design/routing, and provisioning.

Utility experience would be an added advantage. Should have handled the upgradation projects for the utilities in design, testing or commissioning activity.

Microsoft Visio, Excel, Word and GIS (ESRI/AEGIS/ArcGIS) Experience

Strong communication skills,

Desired Skills / Experience:

Technical Certification by BICSI or other reputable communication design certification entity

Optical Network Terminals (ONT), Optical Line Terminations (OLT), or Passive Optical Networks (PON)

Fiber to the x (FTTx) architectures such as centralized, distributed, and segmented split

Familiarity with commercial internet service providers standards and industry best practices
