Job Title: Teacher-Sports Function: Academic Operation

Job Purpose
Oakridge, assures holistic development of every child at school - Academic, Physical, Skills in
sport & performing art(s), life skills, leadership, compassion, and confidence.
A variety of Activities (PE, Performing Arts and Visual Arts) are integrated into the curriculum
of the school. The school aims that children at the school are engaged in activities for at least
35 % of the time they spend at school.
The PE team works to scientifically guide every child to develop a healthy body, improve
physical ability and strength, while learning to play various sports skillfully, and by their rules.
(Basket Ball, Lawn Tennis, Soccer, Roller skates, Taekwondo, Badminton, Cricket, and
Swimming).
Job Outline
1.) Responsible to create a holistic learning experience for children.
2.) Assists the Coordinator in the annual planning of PE, Sport and Art activities for the
segment in terms of staff requirements, and resource (Bats, Racquets, Ball, music
instruments, tools for art...) requirements based on admissions planned by the business
development team.
3.) Assists student to choose sports from the options of sports offered by the school. This to
develop advanced skills based on suitability and interest of the student.
4.) Collaborates with Sports teachers of the to design activities for each grade in line with the
developmental stage of physical ability and strength of the age group. Each activity will
be designed to develop specific physical ability while honing skills for sports. The activities
will have clearly identified development areas from - Gross motor skills, Fine motor skills,
Balance, Agility, Hand Eye coordination, large muscle development, small muscle
development and endurance. The overall plan for each grade will have activities to develop
every area scientifically, and in accordance with the needs of the age group.
5.) Responsible to be a part of a.) Events at the school, b.) field trip for any activity and c.)
participating in interschool competitions.
6.) Plays major role during major events at the school -Sports Day, celebration of festivals and
utilizes the events to allow students to display the skills they have acquired in sport and
arts.
7.) Monitors process discipline of the activities team on a daily basis, including attendance of
of students, periods in progress, progress of the student proficiency in the activity,
coordinating with concerned department in the school for any issues with resources for
the activity
8.) Monitors that process evidence (documentary records, pictures, reflections) are all created
as a normal process routine.
9.) Participates in collaborative meetings conducted by segment to jointly steer the term and
year plan for every grade.
10.) Responsible and accountable to monitor, review and steer "quality of delivery" of coaching
for different activities and provides immediate feedback to teachers. Monitors that the
teachers are following with rigor, the correct methods of coaching with necessary skills
and involvement.
11.) Formal and informal observation sessions
12.) Monitor safety and protective procedures are employed during the activity sessions.
13.) Monitors participation of students in the activities and the seriousness with which they
are involved in the activity. Counsels erring students and works with the sports teacher to
enthuse students to involve.
