Job Description

Do you have a strong interest in communication sciences and disorders, and are you motivated by the idea of helping children overcome barriers to communication and self-expression; do you have the desire to align your skills with an organization whose mission is driven by empathy, ethics, and positive social change; and are you excited about the possibility of experimenting with traditional and innovative speech therapy approaches to discover what works best for children on the autism spectrum and those with other developmental challenges₹
If yes, then this internship will provide you the opportunity to not only deliver therapy under supervision but also research, analyze, and document findings on speech and language development, while being part of a non-for-profit team that values compassion and curiosity in equal measure.

Role & Responsibilities

Support in delivering speech and language therapy sessions, assisting children with articulation, phonology, fluency, and expressive-receptive language delays, while keeping detailed records of observations and progress.

Research new tools, techniques, and evidence-based practices in speech therapy and autism intervention, and summarize them in internal reports and blogs that become valuable resources for the organization.

Document approaches recommended by speech-language pathologists, developmental pediatricians, and therapy experts, and help evaluate their effectiveness when applied with children.

Attend professional development sessions, online and in-person, and prepare detailed summaries for internal learning purposes.

Preferred Candidate Profile

You are currently pursuing or have recently completed a

degree/diploma in Speech and Hearing, Audiology, or Speech-Language Pathology

.

You have prior exposure through internships, field placements, or volunteer work where you supported therapy for children with speech and communication challenges.

You are comfortable working with children across age ranges, from toddlers to adolescents, and occasionally even adults who need communication support.

You are passionate about this demanding yet rewarding field, with a genuine sense of empathy for both patients and their families.
