Job Description

An automotive service manager plays a critical role in any dealership or repair shop. They oversee the daily operations of the service department and are responsible for ensuring customer satisfaction. They are also responsible for managing a team of technicians, setting and achieving departmental goals, and driving revenue growth for the dealership or repair shop.

Responsibilities

o Coordinate and supervise all activities in the service department

o Hire, train, and evaluate technicians and service advisors

o Develop and implement service policies and procedures

o Monitor and improve customer satisfaction scores

o Communicate with customers and resolve any issues or complaints

o Ensure efficient use of resources and manage departmental budgets

o Identify areas for improvement and implement strategies to increase revenue and profitability

o Maintain accurate records of service department activities

Requirements

An automotive service manager should have:

o A high school diploma or equivalent, although a college degree is preferred

o At least one years of experience in the automotive service industry, with at least three years in a management role

o Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills

o Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities

o Proficiency in computer software and industry-specific programs
