Job Description

Looking for a female/ male nurse who specialises in planning and providing support for medical and nursing care to people who have a range of mental health illness. Mental health nurse will work as a part of a team of professional medical staff that includes doctors, psychiatrists and therapists. She/ he will support patients with issues ranging from anxiety, psychosis, and personality disorders and addiction to alcohol and drugs.

The nurse should be prepared to grasp and understand all the needs of the patient, as well as strive to form long lasting fruitful relationships with each patient at HCI.

The nurse is to be equipped to work in primary health care clinics, physician's office, hospitals, nursing homes, mental health establishments and nearly any other health care facility.

Experience of working in an ICU preferred. Else should be proficient/ knowledge in all the emergency procedures.

RESPONSILIBITIES

Diagnosing, assessing and treating patients through their illness. Conducting physical examinations. Documenting medical history. Prescribing Pharmacological treatments. Providing primary and speciality care for all women. Performing minor suturing. Ensuring patients are up-to-date and well educated about their illness. Educating patients on preventive measure to avoid illness. Assessing and planning nursing care requirements. Organising workload Visiting patients at home. Building relationships with, reassuring, listening and talking to patients. Administering medication. Agreeing and reviewing patient care plans and monitoring progress. Liaising with doctors Assessing treatment success with doctors. Writing and updating patient records. Encouraging patients to take part in therapeutic activities.
Shift work or on- call rotas can sometimes be a part of the job.

REQUIREMENTS

Sc in Nursing GNM Nursing Council Registration Certificate required.
