The Gardener is responsible for the upkeep, beautification, and maintenance of the school/organization's gardens and outdoor landscapes. This includes planting, pruning, watering, weeding, mowing, and ensuring that the grounds remain neat, safe, and attractive throughout the year.
Key Responsibilities:
Maintain lawns, flowerbeds, shrubs, hedges, and trees.
Water plants and grass as required, ensuring efficient use of water.
Weed control, soil preparation, mulching, and fertilizing plants.
Prune and trim trees, hedges, and shrubs to maintain a neat appearance.
Operate and maintain gardening tools, lawnmowers, and equipment.
Ensure pathways and outdoor areas are clean, safe, and free from litter or fallen leaves.
Assist in planting seasonal flowers, saplings, and maintaining kitchen/medicinal gardens if applicable.
Report any damages, pest infestations, or hazards in the garden areas.
Follow safety and hygiene practices while handling tools, chemicals, and fertilizers.
Support in setting up outdoor areas for school/organization events.
Skills & Qualifications:
Prior experience in gardening or landscaping preferred.
Knowledge of plants, soil types, fertilizers, and pest control.
Ability to operate basic gardening equipment.
Physically fit to handle outdoor work in varying weather conditions.
Responsible, punctual, and attentive to detail.
Work Conditions:
Outdoor work environment, may involve exposure to sun, rain, and dust.
Requires lifting, bending, and manual labor.
