The FCU / AHU / AC Technician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of HVAC equipment including Fan Coil Units (FCU), Air Handling Units (AHU), split AC systems, and related mechanical components to ensure optimal environmental comfort and energy efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
1. Operation & Maintenance
Perform routine inspection, cleaning, and preventive maintenance of FCUs, AHUs, and air-conditioning systems.
Check refrigerant levels, pressures, temperatures, filters, belts, motors, and other system components.
Replace worn-out parts such as filters, bearings, seals, and belts.
Ensure HVAC systems are running efficiently and within performance parameters.
2. Troubleshooting & Repair
Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and refrigerant-related faults in HVAC systems.
Carry out necessary repairs and adjustments to restore systems to proper operation.
Identify and report potential system failures and recommend corrective actions.
3. Installation & Commissioning
Assist in the installation, testing, and commissioning of new HVAC units and ducting systems.
Ensure installation work complies with technical standards, safety codes, and manufacturer specifications.
4. Record Keeping & Reporting
Maintain daily service logs, checklists, and maintenance records.
Report equipment performance issues and maintenance activities to the supervisor.
Assist in planning preventive maintenance schedules.
5. Safety & Compliance
Follow safety procedures and company policies while performing maintenance work.
Ensure all tools, materials, and equipment are used safely and stored properly.
Comply with environmental, health, and safety regulations.
Qualifications & Requirements
Education:
Diploma / ITI / Technical Certificate in HVAC, Refrigeration, or Mechanical Engineering.
Experience:
2-5 years of experience in HVAC maintenance, preferably with FCU / AHU systems/AC Techinician
Technical Skills:
Knowledge of HVAC systems, refrigerants, and control systems.
Ability to read technical drawings and electrical schematics.
Skilled in using tools and instruments such as manifold gauges, multimeters, and thermometers.
Soft Skills:
Attention to detail, problem-solving, communication, and teamwork.
Physical Requirement:
Ability to lift heavy equipment and work in confined spaces or heights when required.
Preferred Certifications
HVAC Technician Certificate / EPA Refrigerant Handling License (if applicable)
Safety Training (e.g., HSE, Lockout-Tagout, Work at Height)
