Job Description

An F&B Service Associate is responsible for providing excellent customer service in a hospitality setting by taking food and drink orders, serving guests, and maintaining a clean dining area. Key duties include greeting customers, managing dining area setup and cleanup, handling transactions, and resolving guest complaints professionally, while adhering to all health and safety standards.

Guest service

: Greet guests, take food and beverage orders, serve food and drinks, and ensure overall guest satisfaction.

Order and inventory management

: Relay orders to kitchen and bar staff, and assist with inventory counting and stock monitoring.

Dining area maintenance

: Set up and break down dining areas, and maintain high standards of cleanliness and organization in all food and beverage areas.

Problem resolution

: Professionally and courteously handle guest inquiries and complaints.

Operational tasks

: Handle cash and other transactions, and maintain accurate records.

Compliance

: Follow all company policies and procedures, and adhere to health, safety, and sanitation guidelines.

Customer service

: Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a customer-focused approach.

Physical stamina

: Ability to stand for long periods and lift heavy objects.

Technical skills

: Familiarity with point-of-sale (POS) systems can be beneficial.

Attention to detail

: A keen eye for detail to maintain high service and cleanliness standards.

Teamwork

: Ability to collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless service.

Education

: A high school diploma is often required, though some employers may accept equivalent experience.

Certifications

: Food safety and handling certifications can be an advantage.
