Chop, slice, dice, and portion
meats and other food items accurately and efficiently using knives and other kitchen equipment.
Measure and mix
ingredients for various recipes, sauces, and salads.
Label and store
all prepared food items in designated areas, ensuring proper rotation (FIFO - First In, First Out) and temperature control to maintain freshness and prevent waste.
Assist
the cooks and line staff with basic cooking tasks and plating during meal service as needed.
Monitor
inventory levels of ingredients and report shortages to the supervisor or manager.
Cleaning and Sanitation
Clean and sanitize
all workstations, counters, and food preparation areas before, during, and after shifts.
Wash, scrub, and sterilize
dishes, utensils, pots, pans, and cooking equipment, which may involve operating a dish machine.
Dispose of
waste and trash properly in designated containers and manage grease traps in a safe and sanitary manner.
Perform
deep cleaning tasks of kitchen equipment (ovens, hoods, filters, drains) and general areas (floors, walls) according to a cleaning schedule or as assigned.
Adhere
to all local and national health, safety, and sanitation guidelines and regulations (e.g., HACCP).
Report
any maintenance or safety hazards to management immediately.
