The Fashion Merchandiser will be responsible for managing product planning, inventory control, sales analysis, and coordination between design, production, and retail teams. The ideal candidate will have strong fashion sensibility, analytical skills, and an understanding of customer preferences in the luxury/ethnicwear segment.
Work closely with the design team to plan seasonal assortments and product ranges.
Analyse market trends, customer insights, and competitor brands to guide product development.
Ensure the right product mix, pricing, and positioning across categories (Bridal, Couture, Pret, Menswear, Accessories).
2. Inventory Management
Monitor stock levels at retail stores, studio, and warehouse.
Manage replenishment cycles, fast-moving styles, and slow-moving inventory.
Coordinate with production to ensure optimal inventory levels and timely fulfillment.
3. Sales Analysis & Reporting
Track weekly/monthly sales performance across categories.
Identify bestsellers, slow sellers, and propose actionable strategies (markdowns, promotions, re-cuts).
Create detailed MIS reports for management review.
4. Vendor & Production Coordination
Liaise with production teams to track sampling, costing, and order timelines.
Maintain accurate product sheets, costing sheets, and SKU-level information.
Ensure quality parameters and delivery timelines are met.
5. Retail Support & Visual Merchandising
Work with retail teams to optimize product placement and ensure adherence to brand guidelines.
Evaluate store-level feedback and customer preferences to refine product strategy.
Support visual merchandising for new launches, collections, and events.
6. E-commerce Merchandising (If applicable)
Coordinate with the online team for product uploads, photoshoots, catalog accuracy, and stock sync.
Track online sales performance and customer behavior analytics.
Skills & Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Fashion Merchandising, Fashion Management, or related field from a reputed institute.
1-4 years of experience in fashion merchandising; luxury/ethnicwear experience preferred.
Strong understanding of fabric, silhouettes, Indian couture, and market trends.
Excellent analytical skills and proficiency in Excel, reporting tools, and inventory systems.
Good communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
Attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
