Auxilium Skills Academy (ASA) is a faith-based, not-for-profit training initiative run by the Salesian Sisters of Don Bosco. It is committed to empowering marginalized youth--especially young women--through quality, inclusive, and market-relevant skill training, fostering employability, entrepreneurship, and dignity of work.
Job Purpose:
To train and mentor students in the field of Fashion Designing through structured sessions that integrate both traditional skills and modern industry practices. The trainer will play a key role in preparing students--many from underprivileged backgrounds--for employment, self-employment, or further education in the fashion sector.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver theory and hands-on training in fashion designing modules, including:
Garment construction and stitching
Fashion illustration and portfolio development
Pattern making and draping
Textile knowledge and surface ornamentation
Use of basic design software (optional based on course)
Design lesson plans, training content, and assessments in alignment with ASA's curriculum and skill development guidelines (NSDC, MSDE, or SSC standards if applicable).
Support and motivate students--especially first-generation learners--to complete the course and explore career pathways in fashion.
Provide individual attention to students needing extra support or remedial learning.
Organize student exhibitions, fashion shows, or sales of student-made products as part of experiential learning and income generation.
Maintain discipline, attendance, student records, and progress reports.
Foster creativity, confidence, and a positive learning environment among trainees.
Engage in continuous learning and update teaching practices in line with industry trends.
Participate in community outreach, mobilization activities, and skill fairs to promote the program.
Qualifications and Experience:
Diploma / Degree in Fashion Designing, Garment Technology, or related field from a recognized institution.
Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in training or working in the fashion/textile/apparel industry.
Prior experience in teaching low-income or marginalized youth preferred.
Familiarity with tailoring machines, tools, and handcraft techniques.

Experience with government-funded skilling programs (e.g., PMKVY, DDUGKY, MES).
Ability to guide students in micro-entrepreneurship and product development.
