Job Description

Research and stay updated on traditional and contemporary Chikankari embroidery techniques. Design innovative Chikankari dresses, incorporating cultural elements with current fashion trends. Create detailed sketches, technical drawings, and specifications for garments. Select appropriate fabrics, threads, and embellishments suited for Chikankari work. Collaborate with artisans, pattern makers, and sample cutters to develop prototypes. Supervise and coordinate the embroidery and finishing processes to ensure quality standards. Review samples, make revisions, and approve final designs for production. Maintain knowledge of textile properties and embroidery techniques. Work within budget and timelines while maintaining the authenticity of traditional artistry. Promote the collection through fashion shows, social media, and industry events.

Qualifications:

Degree or diploma in Fashion Design, Textile Design, or related field. Strong portfolio showcasing Chikankari dress designs and embroidery expertise. Knowledge of traditional embroidery techniques and their applications. Proficiency in design software like Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop. Familiarity with textile sourcing and craftsmanship techniques.
