Role Summary

We are looking to appoint a highly accomplished and creative

Fashion Designer - Ethnic Wear

with strong expertise in

offline wholesale garment manufacturing

. The role demands deep knowledge of Indian ethnic aesthetics, value-added embellishment techniques, and large-scale production feasibility. The selected professional will be responsible for conceptualizing, developing, and executing commercially viable ethnic collections aligned with wholesale buyer expectations.

Key Responsibilities

Conduct in-depth research on ethnic wear trends, buyer preferences, and competitive wholesale collections. Conceptualize and design cohesive ethnic wear ranges including lehengas, sarees, kurtis, gowns, sherwanis, and indo-western ensembles. Develop detailed mood boards, design sketches, CAD artworks, and comprehensive technical sheets. Collaborate closely with sampling, embroidery, and production teams to ensure accurate translation of designs into bulk-ready samples. Recommend suitable fabrics, trims, embroidery techniques, prints, and surface ornamentation aligned with cost and scalability. Ensure all designs meet commercial viability, cost targets, and manufacturing timelines. Supervise fittings, evaluate sample quality, and implement necessary refinements to achieve superior finishing standards. Build and maintain strong relationships with fabric, embroidery, and accessory vendors. Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior designers and design trainees.

Qualifications & Professional Competencies

Degree or Diploma in Fashion Designing or Textile Designing from a recognized institute. Minimum

3-5 years of proven experience

in ethnic wear design within a

garment manufacturing and wholesale environment

. A strong portfolio demonstrating commercially successful ethnic collections developed for wholesale markets. Proficiency in CorelDRAW, Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and relevant CAD software. Thorough understanding of traditional and contemporary fabrics, embroidery methods, and embellishment processes. Strong aesthetic sensibility combined with commercial acumen and market awareness. Ability to perform under tight deadlines while balancing creativity with production and cost constraints.
