Role Overview
The Fashion Designer will be responsible for conceptualizing and developing collections for men, women, and kids across ethnic wear, casual wear, and seasonal ranges. This role requires strong multi-category design capability, trend understanding, and coordination with production teams to build a cohesive in-house brand identity.
Key Responsibilities
1. Multi-Category Design
Design collections for men, women, and kids according to brand requirements.
Create mood boards, colour palettes, season themes, and design stories.
Develop design sketches, CADs, and technical sheets for each category.
Ensure the brand's design language is consistent across all age groups.
2. Fabric, Trim & Accessory Selection
Identify and finalize fabrics suitable for each garment category--cottons, blends, ethnic fabrics, knits, etc.
Select trims, labels, zippers, elastic, buttons, and embellishments as per brand aesthetics.
Ensure logo placements, woven labels, and branding elements remain uniform.
3. Sampling & Production Coordination
Work closely with the sampling unit, pattern master, and tailors for accurate execution of designs.
Approve prototypes, size sets, and pre-production samples.
Conduct fitting sessions for men's, women's, and kids' garments and communicate necessary changes.
Coordinate with vendors for procurement and timely development.
4. Trend, Market & Competitor Research
Stay updated with fashion trends for men's, women's, and kids' segments.
Conduct retail visits to study silhouettes, pricing, and consumer preferences.
Suggest new product categories like family sets, festive collections, twinning outfits, etc
5. Branding & Collection Presentation
Ensure all garments follow brand style guidelines, logo placement standards, and packaging aesthetics.
Prepare seasonal collection presentations for management approval.
Assist the marketing team during photoshoots, styling, and brand campaigns.
6. Reporting & Documentation
Maintain tech packs, BOMs (Bill of Materials), costing sheets, and style master documents.
Track sampling status and production timelines.
Maintain fabric library and design archive
