Job Summary

We are seeking a creative and detail-oriented

Fashion Designer cum Merchandiser

to join our clothing export team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing innovative apparel collections while managing merchandising activities to ensure timely production and delivery for international clients.

Key Responsibilities

Design & Development:

Create trend-driven designs for apparel collections based on seasonal forecasts and client requirements. Develop technical sketches, mood boards, and color palettes. Select fabrics, trims, and accessories suitable for export markets.

Merchandising & Coordination:

Liaise with owner and possibly international clients to understand design specifications and quality standards. Prepare cost sheets, price negotiations, and order confirmations. Coordinate with production teams and suppliers to ensure timely sampling and bulk production. Monitor quality control and compliance with export regulations.

Market Research & Trend Analysis:

Stay updated on global fashion trends, fabrics, and consumer preferences. Analyze competitor products and market demands to guide design decisions.

Qualifications & Skills

Bachelor's degree in Fashion Design, Fashion Merchandising, Textile Design, or related field. 3+ years of experience in fashion design and merchandising, preferably in export-oriented companies. Strong knowledge of garment construction, fabrics, and production processes. Excellent communication skills in English and Mandarin (preferred). Proficiency in design software (Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, CAD). Ability to multitask and work under tight deadlines.

Additional Requirements

Understanding of international fashion markets and export documentation. Strong negotiation and vendor management skills.
