Job Description

Responsibilities:

Supervising Farm Activities:

Direct and coordinate farm activities such as planting, irrigation, chemical application, harvesting, and packing.

Staff Management:

Hire, train, and supervise farm workers, ensuring tasks are completed safely and efficiently.

Crop Management:

Monitor crop health, identify pests and diseases, and implement appropriate interventions.

Equipment Oversight:

Maintain and oversee the use of farm machinery and equipment, ensuring they are in good working condition.

Record Keeping:

Keep accurate records of farming activities, including inventory, production, and employee schedules.

Health and Safety Compliance:

Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and promote safe working practices.

Budget Management:

Assist in budget planning and monitoring of expenses related to farming operations.

Communication:

Liaise with farm managers, suppliers, and other stakeholders as needed to coordinate activities and resolve issues.

Environmental Stewardship:

Implement sustainable farming practices to minimize environmental impact.

Qualifications:

Proven experience as a farm supervisor or similar role in agriculture. Knowledge of agricultural practices, equipment, and crop management. Strong leadership and organizational skills. Ability to work effectively in a team environment. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Diploma or degree in agriculture or related field preferred.
