Job Description

1. Job Purpose



To deliver high-quality teaching, practical training, and academic guidance to students enrolled in the Medical Lab Sciences program, while contributing to departmental development, research activities, clinical collaborations, and institutional initiatives.

2. Key ResponsibilitiesA. Teaching & Academic Delivery



Deliver lectures, tutorials, and practical sessions as per the timetable. Prepare lesson plans, teaching materials, and laboratory manuals. Ensure completion of assigned teaching hours and academic targets. Conduct internal assessments, viva, practical evaluations, and assist in examination duties. Mentor students academically and provide career/clinical guidance.

B. Laboratory & Clinical Responsibilities



Supervise laboratory sessions ensuring safety, accuracy, and compliance with protocols. Guide students in preparing slides, performing tests, handling equipment, and following NABL/CLSI guidelines. Maintain laboratory equipment, consumables, and calibration records. Support in maintaining infection control, biosafety, and waste disposal processes.

C. Research & Publications



Publish

at least one research paper per academic year

in a recognized journal. Contribute to departmental research projects, data analysis, and academic writing. Encourage student involvement in research and innovation activities.

D. Academic Contributions & Institutional Activities



Prepare question papers, assignments, practical handbooks, and course files. Participate in syllabus revision, BOS meetings, academic audits, and quality assurance tasks. Assist in accreditation-related documentation (NABL, NAAC, NBA, ISO etc.).

E. Industry & Community Engagement



Organize

one Industrial/Clinical Visit

per academic year for students. Coordinate with hospitals, diagnostic centres, laboratories, and health organizations for training tie-ups. Conduct

one guest lecture

per year by an external expert from the healthcare/diagnostic industry. Participate in health camps, awareness drives, and extension activities.

F. Administrative & Additional Responsibilities



Maintain student attendance, records, and academic documentation. Actively participate in departmental meetings, institutional events, and committees. Perform additional roles such as Examination Coordinator, Social Media Coordinator, Time-Table Coordinator, etc., if assigned by the HOD/Director. Ensure discipline, punctuality, and adherence to institutional policies at all times.

3. Required Qualifications & Experience



Minimum Qualification:

M.Sc / MMLS / M.Sc. MLT / MLT (as per regulatory norms).

Experience of

teaching or clinical laboratory experience preferred. Strong knowledge of Hematology, Clinical Biochemistry, Microbiology, Immunology, Blood Banking, Histopathology, and Laboratory Quality Control.

4. Skills & Competencies



Excellent teaching and communication skills. Hands-on laboratory skills and familiarity with modern diagnostic equipment. Ability to guide students in handling clinical samples safely. Strong documentation and research-writing ability. Teamwork, leadership, and time-management skills. Knowledge of accreditation standards (NABL/CLSI) is an added advantage.

Pay: ?30,000.00 - ?43,000.00 per month
