Azim Premji University, Bhopal started operations in August 2023, offering postgraduate and undergraduate programmes. The first phase of campus construction is complete and the overall 50-acre campus with state-of-the-art academic and residential facilities will be ready over the next few years. We expect to grow to about 4000 students and 500 members over the next few years.


In addition to teaching in our programmes, we offer faculty an enriching and fulfilling institution building experience encompassing interdisciplinary programme design, setting up and implementation of key institutional processes, culture building, and participation in various institutional bodies. The University encourages and offers support to faculty members for pursuing their own research.


We seek applicants who identify with the University's purpose and are keen to contribute to the design, development and delivery of courses in our postgraduate programmes.


We are particularly interested in candidates working in the areas of social determinants of health, health equity, broader contributions of social sciences to public health.

Responsibilities:

As a faculty member in Public Health, you should have:

Experience in public health research and practice with strong empirical work. For academics: An advanced degree or equivalent degree in relevant field. For experienced practitioners: At least ten years of on-the-ground experience with an advanced degree. Ability to reflect and think critically. Strong oral and written communication skills. Willingness to collaborate and work in teams. Willingness to engage with a very diverse and large student body. Experience of ground-up policy development work is desirable.
