Azim Premji University, Bhopal started operations in August 2023, offering postgraduate and undergraduate programmes. The first phase of campus construction is complete and the overall 50-acre campus with state-of-the-art academic and residential facilities will be ready over the next few years. We expect to grow to about 4000 students and 500 members over the next few years.


We are expanding our program offerings and are inviting applications for full time faculty positions. We will offer faculty an enriching and fulfilling institution building experience encompassing inter disciplinary program design, development, and research opportunities, setting up and implementation of key institutional processes, culture building and participation in various institutional bodies.


We invite applications for faculty positions in Mathematics and Statistics for our undergraduate programme at the University.


As a faculty member, you will be teaching mathematics, statistics and computational reasoning courses based on programme demands and student enrolment patterns.


In addition to strong disciplinary expertise, we seek faculty members who can bridge theoretical concepts with practical applications, particularly in the context of interdisciplinary learning and computational thinking.

Qualifications:

Experience in teaching mathematics/ statistics to students from disciplines such as life sciences, humanities and social sciences. Familiarity with computational thinking and its applications in undergraduate education. Experience with interdisciplinary teaching approaches. Research experience in applied mathematics, biostatistics, or data science.

Requirements

An advanced degree in mathematics, statistics, applied mathematics, or a closely related field with demonstrated expertise in both mathematical and statistical concepts. Strong foundation in core mathematics (calculus, linear algebra, optimization) and statistics (probability, statistical inference, data analysis). Ability to develop and deliver courses suitable for students from diverse academic backgrounds, particularly those pursuing Biology, Economics and Liberal Arts programs. Competence in computational tools and programming languages commonly used in mathematics and statistics (such as Excel, R, Python, etc.) would be advantageous. Strong commitment to undergraduate teaching and mentoring. Willingness to engage with computational reasoning pedagogy and interdisciplinary approaches to mathematics and statistics education. Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and adapt teaching methods based on student needs and programme requirements. Research interest in mathematics, statistics, or related applied areas that can contribute to the academic environment. Ability and willingness to offer training/remedial courses in quantitative reasoning.
