We are seeking faculty members to contribute to teaching and research in the broad area of environmental science, climate change and sustainability. Candidates must possess solid understanding of the theoretical aspects of pollution and must be familiar with the laboratory and field aspects of air, water, and soil sampling and quality assessment including the use of basic and advanced sampling instruments and techniques used in state-of-the-art pollution labs. Candidates must be flexible to teach courses outside of their core disciplines, as needed.
We seek applicants who identify with the purpose of the University and are keen to teach students from diverse educational background, along with an interest in embracing an interdisciplinary approach.
Responsibilities:
Teach undergraduate and postgraduate courses in environmental sciences including conducting laboratory sessions.
Develop curriculum and courses focusing on environmental sustainability and pollution-related topics.
Build and maintain laboratories related to soil, air, and water pollution monitoring.
Develop short courses and workshops for teaching practitioners and the wider public.
Develop and maintain a research program in environmental sciences.
Requirements
An advanced degree in environmental science or a related field.
Expertise in research related to environmental sciences, especially the use of instrumentation related to environmental pollution.
Experience in teaching courses in environmental science or related fields is preferred.
Must have a strong background in environmental science with focus on pollution, along with a broader interest in environmental sustainability.
Additional experience with teaching and development of curriculum material including but not limited to science majors, will be appreciated.
Good oral and written communication skills.
Willingness to work collaboratively and in teams.
Willingness to engage with a diverse student body.
