Azim Premji University, Bhopal started operations in August 2023, offering postgraduate and undergraduate programs. The first phase of campus construction is complete and the overall 50-acre campus with state-of-the-art academic and residential facilities will be ready over the next few years. We expect to grow to about 4000 students and 500 members over the next few years.
We are expanding our program offerings and are inviting applications for full time faculty positions. We will offer faculty an enriching and fulfilling institution building experience encompassing inter disciplinary program design, development, and research opportunities, setting up and implementation of key institutional processes, culture building and participation in various institutional bodies.
We are looking for candidates interested in contributing to Early Childhood Education (ECE) in the MA Education programme.
In addition to those who have engaged in early childhood education academically, we also encourage those with significant field experience to apply.#
Responsibilities:
As a faculty member of Early Childhood Education (ECE), you will be required to:
Teach postgraduate courses in ECE, in areas of curriculum and pedagogy of ECE, principles and practices, programme and material development and professional development in ECE.
Mentor students and support their learning in the classroom.
Prepare students for extended field practice.
Work closely with other colleagues in the MA Education programme to work collaboratively and support students in their learning.
Take up institutional responsibilities as and when required.
Engage in research and writing for own academic growth and contribute to the field.
Requirements
PhD or postgraduate degree in Human Development and Childhood Studies/ Developmental Psychology/ MA Education degree with keen interest and work experience in Child Development and Learning/ Early Childhood Education.
Capacity to be reflective and think critically.
Strong oral and written communication skills.
Orientation towards collaborative work.
Willingness to engage with a diverse student body.
For academics, an advanced degree in a relevant field. For experienced practitioners: On-the-ground experience of more than 10 years and a postgraduate degree (or equivalent) in any relevant field.
Ability to teach and develop courses in a Master's level Education programme.
Ability to engage with students in Hindi and English.
