We are seeking a passionate and knowledgeable Civil Engineering Faculty member to join our academic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in civil engineering principles, as well as the ability to teach, mentor, and guide students in the field. The faculty member will be expected to conduct research, contribute to curriculum development, engage in academic service, and participate in the overall growth of the department.
Key Responsibilities
:1.
Teaching and Instruction
:
Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in civil engineering.
Develop and update course materials, syllabi, and lesson plans.
Ensure high-quality instruction through lectures, tutorials, laboratory sessions, and other teaching methods.
Supervise and guide students in their academic projects, research, and internships.
Provide timely feedback on student performance, including assignments, exams, and projects.
Promote a positive and inclusive learning environment for students.
2.
Research and Development
:
Conduct high-quality, innovative research in areas related to civil engineering (e.g., structural engineering, transportation, geotechnical engineering, environmental engineering, etc.).
Publish research findings in reputable journals and present at academic conferences.
Pursue external funding and grants to support research activities.
Collaborate with industry professionals, other academic institutions, and governmental organizations on research projects.
3.
Curriculum Development and Review
:
Contribute to the development and continuous improvement of the curriculum to meet industry standards and academic requirements.
Stay current with new developments and trends in civil engineering to ensure courses remain relevant and up-to-date.
Review and evaluate teaching materials, including textbooks, software, and other resources.
4.
Student Mentorship
:
Advise and mentor undergraduate and graduate students in academic matters, career planning, and research projects.
Participate in academic advising and student counseling activities.
Assist in student recruitment, orientation programs, and extracurricular activities related to civil engineering.
5.
Academic and Departmental Service
:
Participate in departmental meetings, faculty committees, and university events.
Contribute to the overall development and growth of the Civil Engineering Department.
Engage in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching and research capabilities.
6.
Industry and Community Engagement
:
Foster strong relationships with industry professionals and organizations to provide students with real-world insights and opportunities.
Engage in community outreach activities related to civil engineering.
Promote the department and university to external stakeholders and the wider community.
Qualifications
:
Education
:
Ph.D. or Master's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field from an accredited institution. (Ph.D. preferred for a tenure-track position).
Good knowledge in
Revit,autocad,3dsmax,v-ray,staad -pro, primevera, corona
Experience
:
Proven experience in teaching civil engineering courses at the undergraduate and/or graduate level.
Research experience in one or more areas of civil engineering (e.g., structural, transportation, geotechnical, environmental, etc.).
Experience with course design, curriculum development, and academic advising is highly preferred.
Industry experience in civil engineering is an advantage.
