Overview
The Faculty Academic Counselor is a key administrative and faculty-facing role responsible for managing all student and prospective student inquiries related to course structure, academic pathways, and enrollment logistics. This position ensures students have accurate information for academic decision-making, facilitating a smooth progression through the rigorous curriculum without engaging in personal or mental health counseling.
Key Responsibilities
1. Academic Guidance and Information Management
? Course Expertise: Serve as the definitive resource for all information concerning the Academy's programs, including curriculum, credit requirements, course sequencing, elective options, and program prerequisites.
? Query Resolution: Handle and resolve all student and prospective student inquiries regarding course load, registration procedures, scheduling conflicts, tuition and fee structure, and transfer of credit.
? Academic Planning: Guide current students in mapping out their academic timetables and making informed decisions about course selection to ensure they meet graduation and licensure requirements efficiently.
? Documentation and Policy: Maintain current knowledge of and clearly communicate all academic policies, deadlines, grading procedures, and course withdrawal regulations.
2. Faculty and Administrative Liaison
? Faculty Collaboration: Act as the primary contact for faculty regarding class roster management, student enrollment status, and course change notifications.
? Reporting: Prepare reports on student enrollment trends, course popularity, and common academic roadblocks for administrative review.
? System Integrity: Ensure the accuracy of all course and student progression data within the Academy's Student Information System (SIS).
? Resource Development: Assist in developing and updating academic handbooks, online FAQs, and course registration materials.
3. Student Progression and Retention Support
? Progress Monitoring: Track the academic progress of enrolled students, proactively notifying those who are off-track regarding required course corrections.
? New Student Integration: Lead informational sessions for new cohorts, focusing solely on academic structure, registration, and institutional resources.
Required Qualifications
? Education: Bachelor's degree required. Master's degree in Education, Higher Education Administration, or a related field is preferred. BDS is an added advantage.
? Experience: Minimum 3 years of experience in academic advising, registrar functions, or student services, with significant experience in a dental, medical, or specialized health sciences academy.
? Technical Skills: Proficiency with Student Information Systems (SIS/CRM) and data management software.

? Customer Service: Highly professional, patient, and service-oriented communication skills for interacting with students and faculty.

? Boundary Awareness: Strict adherence to professional boundaries, specifically avoiding involvement in personal or clinical advisory roles.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: ₹12,580.06 - ₹37,903.32 per month
