Job Description

Detailed Job Responsibilities1. Production Oversight

Manage end-to-end production processes, ensuring timely completion of daily, weekly, and monthly output targets. Monitor product quality and consistency throughout each stage of production. Ensure machines and equipment are operating within defined standards and parameters. Review shift performance, troubleshoot bottlenecks, and provide solutions for process optimization.

2. Team Leadership & Workforce Management

Supervise, guide, and support shift operators, technicians, and floor staff. Assign tasks and responsibilities to team members based on workload and skill level. Facilitate training programs for staff on operational procedures, equipment handling, and safety practices. Manage attendance, shift rosters, conflict resolution, and overall employee discipline.

3. Equipment & Maintenance Coordination

Monitor machine performance and ensure preventive maintenance tasks are completed on time. Report equipment malfunctions and coordinate with the maintenance department for quick repairs. Evaluate equipment utilization and recommend upgrades or replacements when necessary. Maintain calibration and operational integrity of machines to minimize downtime.

4. Quality Control & Compliance

Ensure that production complies with company standards, customer requirements, and industry regulations. Work closely with the Quality Assurance team to address deviations, rejections, and corrective actions.

5. Safety, Health & Environmental Compliance

Enforce all plant safety procedures, PPE requirements, and hazard control measures. Conduct safety drills, risk assessments, and incident/accident investigations. Ensure compliance with environmental guidelines related to waste management, emissions, and material handling. Maintain a safe, clean, and hazard-free work environment.

6. Reporting & Documentation

Prepare and maintain production reports, downtime logs, shift reports, manpower utilization, and inventory records. Track consumption of raw materials, packing materials, and energy usage. Submit daily and weekly performance metrics to the Plant Manager/Operations Manager. Use ERP or manufacturing systems (if applicable) to record real-time data.

7. Cross-Functional Coordination

Work collaboratively with procurement, warehousing, logistics, and planning teams to ensure uninterrupted operations. Participate in production meetings, process improvement initiatives, and continuous improvement projects. Liaise with suppliers, contractors, and external auditors as required.
