Job Description

Key Responsibilities

1. Production & Process Management

Plan and schedule daily powder coating operations to meet production targets. o Monitor pre-treatment, drying, powder application, curing, and inspection processes. o Ensure correct powder usage, thickness, and finish as per specifications. o Maintain production logs, consumption data, job cards, and quality reports. o Coordinate with dispatch teams, inbound vehicle movements, drivers, and office staff to ensure smooth operational flow. o Ability to prepare and provide quotations for small orders.
2. Quality Assurance

Conduct surface finish checks: coating thickness, adhesion, gloss, color shade. o Prevent defects such as orange peel, pinholes, uneven coating, or contamination. o Ensure proper masking, jigging, and cleaning standards. o Coordinate with applicator for rectification and continuous improvement.
3. Manpower Supervision

Assign tasks to operators, helpers, pre-treatment staff, and loaders. o Monitor operator performance and provide training on coating standards. o Ensure discipline, safety, and adherence to SOPs across the plant.
4. Equipment, Machine & Line Management

Oversee the operation of pre-treatment tanks, coating booth, curing oven, compressor & spray guns. o Ensure equipment calibration, preventive maintenance, and breakdown reporting.
5. Safety & Compliance

Ensure safe handling of chemicals, powders, and hot ovens. o Maintain PPE usage, ventilation, dust control, and housekeeping.
6. Inventory & Cost Control

Track powder consumption and maintain minimum stock levels. o Reduce rework, wastage, and overspray losses. o Coordinate with purchase team for timely replenishment.
7. Reporting

Provide daily reports on output, rejection %, rework, manpower usage, and downtime. o Maintain records for audits and customer inspections. Required Skills & Qualifications
Technical Skills

In-depth knowledge of powder coating processes & chemistry. o Experience with pre-treatment systems. o Ability to control parameters like temperature, micron level, dwell time. o Familiar with preventive maintenance of coating equipment. Soft Skills o Leadership & team management. o Strong communication skills.(in Hindi, Tamil and English) o Problem-solving mindset. o Attention to detail and commitment to quality.
Education & Experience

Diploma/ITI/BE in Mechanical or related field. o Experience in powder coating or surface coating plant supervision. o Experience with MS & aluminium fabrication parts preferred.
