BACHELOR OF MEDICINE AND BACHELOR OF SURGERY (MBBS)



Conduct

, especially for workers in hazardous zones (e.g., welding bays, confined spaces) Diagnose and treat illnesses, injuries, occupational exposures, and emergencies on-site Maintain

(physical and/or electronic) and ensure strict confidentiality Lead emergency care protocols: administration of first aid, stabilization, and coordinating transfers to external hospitals Maintain fully equipped and regularly audited first-aid kits, medical supplies, antidotes; supervise on-site ambulances Identify, assess, and monitor workplace hazards (chemical, physical, ergonomic) in shipyard operations Conduct hygiene inspections (canteen, dormitories), occupational health surveys, and identify notifiable diseases as defined by relevant safety regulations Develop and execute health awareness and wellness programs: stress management, PPE usage, lifestyle diseases Arrange first-aid, BCLS, crisis management, and occupational hygiene training sessions for employees and families Ensure compliance with the Factories Act, state-level rules, ISO, OHSAS, and shipbuilding-specific health legislation Coordinate with certifying surgeons, factory inspectors, government bodies, and handle medico-legal cases (MLCs) Budget planning and procurement of medicines, equipment, and supplies; optimize expenses Maintain biomedical waste management, inventory control, track health trends, and compile regular health reports Liaise with local hospitals, specialists, and emergency services for referrals and specialist consultations Collaborate with EHS, HR, operations teams, and union leaders to foster a healthy, compliant workplace MBBS (or equivalent) with a valid Indian medical license Certification in occupational/industrial health:
