The Factory Manager will be responsible for overseeing the entire factory operations, including production planning, manpower management, quality control, machine maintenance, inventory, and safety compliance. The role ensures smooth day-to-day functioning of the manufacturing unit and timely delivery of quality products like chimneys, gas hobs, cooktops, geysers, water heaters, and water purifiers.
Key Responsibilities:1. Production Management
Plan, schedule, and supervise daily production activities.
Ensure efficient utilization of manpower, machinery, and materials.
Achieve daily, weekly, and monthly production targets.
Monitor production timelines to meet dispatch and market demand.
2. Quality Control
Maintain strict quality standards for chimney and kitchen appliance components.
Coordinate with QC team to reduce defects and ensure zero-error output.
Implement continuous improvement initiatives (5S, Kaizen, Lean).
3. Manpower Handling
Supervise factory staff, operators, technicians, and helpers.
Manage attendance, discipline, and shift planning.
Ensure training and skill development of workers.
4. Maintenance & Machinery
Ensure preventive and routine maintenance of machines.
Coordinate with maintenance team to reduce downtime.
Monitor performance of fabrication, assembly, motor testing, and packaging units.
5. Inventory & Material Management
Monitor raw material availability (steel sheets, motors, PCB, filters, glass, etc.).
Reduce wastage and maintain proper stock levels.
Coordinate with purchase and warehouse teams for smooth workflow.
6. Safety, Compliance & Documentation
Ensure adherence to factory safety norms and government compliance.
Maintain documentation related to production, stock, maintenance, and quality.
Conduct regular safety audits and training sessions.
7. Coordination & Reporting
Coordinate with HR, Purchase, Sales, and Logistics teams.
Prepare daily/weekly production reports for management.
Implement management decisions and factory policies.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree / Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, or Production Engineering.
Minimum
5-10 years of experience
in manufacturing (preferably chimneys or home appliances).
Strong knowledge of production workflow, assembly processes, and quality standards.
Leadership and manpower handling skills.
Problem-solving ability and strong decision-making.
Knowledge of MS Office, Excel, and ERP systems preferred.
Additional Preferred Skills:
Experience in sheet metal fabrication.
Knowledge of motor assembly, blower fitting, and chimney suction testing.
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
