We are seeking a highly experienced Factory Manager to oversee the entire garment manufacturing unit specializing in shirts. The role involves managing production, quality, manpower, compliance, and operational efficiency to ensure on-time delivery and high-quality output. The ideal candidate must have strong leadership skills and extensive experience in shirt manufacturing.
Key Responsibilities
Factory Operations & Production Management
Oversee end-to-end factory operations including cutting, stitching, finishing, and packing.
Develop and implement production plans to ensure timely delivery based on buyer orders.
Monitor production efficiency, output, line balancing, and utilization of manpower and machinery.
Ensure daily, weekly, and monthly production targets are achieved.
Quality & Compliance
Ensure strict adherence to quality standards throughout all processes.
Work closely with quality teams to reduce defects, rework, and wastage.
Ensure compliance with buyer requirements, safety standards, and factory policies.
Team Leadership & Workforce Management
Lead, train, and supervise production managers, supervisors, and factory staff.
Ensure proper allocation of manpower across departments.
Maintain discipline, safety, and a healthy working environment inside the factory.
Process Improvement
Identify bottlenecks and implement process improvements for higher productivity.
Use Lean Manufacturing, 5S, and industrial engineering techniques to optimize workflow.
Monitor and reduce production costs through efficient resource utilization.
Coordination & Reporting
Coordinate with merchandising, planning, procurement, and HR teams for smooth operations.
Review daily production reports and share updates with senior management.
Manage maintenance schedules for machinery and ensure minimal downtime.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree/Diploma in Textile Engineering, Garment Technology, or a related field.
10-15+ years of experience in garment manufacturing, with at least 5 years in shirt production.
Proven experience in managing large factory operations and production teams.
Strong knowledge of garment manufacturing processes, quality systems, and compliance.
Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Proficiency in production planning tools and ERP systems is preferred.
Preferred Skills
Strong analytical and decision-making abilities
Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, 5S, Kaizen, IE concepts
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
