We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated
Factory Manager
to oversee all operations at our manufacturing facility. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in production management, quality control, efficiency optimization, and team leadership.
Key Requirements
Experience:
Minimum of
10 years
of progressive experience in a manufacturing environment, with significant time spent in a managerial or supervisory role.
Industry Preference:
Experience in the
Manufacturing Industry
is required.
Highly Preferred:
Prior experience specifically within the
Machinery Manufacturing
sector is a significant advantage.
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, Production, etc.), Business Administration, or a related field. A Master's degree is a plus.
Compensation:
Annual Cost-to-Company (CTC) is in the range of
?10 Lakhs to ?12 Lakhs
per annum.
Roles and Responsibilities :
The Factory Manager will be accountable for strategic leadership, operational efficiency, regulatory compliance, and sustained factory performance across all domains:
1. Strategic Operations and Production Management
Production Planning & Execution:
Develop and drive master production schedules, ensuring optimal utilization of human resources, machinery, and material. Mandate and monitor KPIs such as Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), first-pass yield, and cost per unit.
Continuous Improvement:
Champion and sustain improvement initiatives (e.g., Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Kaizen) across the plant floor to enhance process efficiency, reduce waste ($Muda$), and increase throughput.
Technology Integration:
Evaluate and recommend investments in new technologies or automation that can enhance production capabilities and maintain our competitive edge in machinery manufacturing.
Inventory & Logistics:
Oversee all aspects of Supply Chain within the factory walls, including managing raw material stores, WIP control, finished goods warehousing, and internal logistics to ensure zero production delays due to material issues.
2. Regulatory Compliance, Liaisoning, and Certifications
Government Liaisoning:
Serve as the primary point of contact and representative for the company in all dealings with Government Departments and Local Authorities (e.g., District Industries Centre, Municipal Corporation).
Statutory Compliance:
Ensure rigorous and timely compliance with all applicable statutory regulations related to factory operations, labor, and environment.
Certification and Renewals Management:
Take full ownership of the timely renewal and maintenance of crucial factory certifications and licenses, including:
Factory License (annual renewal).
MPCB (Maharashtra Pollution Control Board) consents (Consent to Operate, etc.).
Fire Safety Certificates and related NOCs.
Boiler and Pressure Vessel inspections/certifications (if applicable).
Audits and Inspections: Coordinate, prepare for, and manage all external regulatory inspections and internal compliance audits.
3. Quality Assurance and Safety Management
Quality Management System (QMS):
Maintain, improve, and enforce the QMS (e.g., ISO 9001) to ensure consistent product quality, especially given the complexity of machinery manufacturing.
Safety Leadership:
Be the chief safety officer for the premises. Develop, implement, and strictly enforce the highest standards of safety protocols, conducting mandatory safety training and risk assessments for all processes and equipment.
Incident Management:
Lead all incident investigations (accidents, near misses, quality escapes) to determine root causes and implement robust corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
4. Financial Management and Budgeting
Budget Control:
Prepare, manage, and control the annual operating budget (OpEx) and capital expenditure budget (CapEx) for the factory.
Cost Optimization:
Identify and execute initiatives to reduce manufacturing costs, including labor efficiency, utility conservation, and scrap reduction.
Contractor Management:
Oversee contract negotiation and performance management for key service providers and labor contractors (e.g., security, maintenance, specialized labor).
5. Leadership, People Management, and Culture
Team Development:
Lead, mentor, and coach the supervisory and management teams, fostering a culture of accountability, performance, and mutual respect.
Workforce Planning:
Manage staffing levels, recruitment, training, and performance evaluation for the entire factory workforce.
Discipline and Grievance:
Effectively manage disciplinary issues and handle employee grievances in accordance with company policy and labor laws.
