The Factory Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of a manufacturing facility, ensuring that production goals are met efficiently, on time, and within budget. This role involves managing a team, optimizing production processes, ensuring safety standards, maintaining equipment, and working closely with other departments to improve overall productivity and quality.
Key Responsibilities:
Production Management:
Oversee the daily operations of the manufacturing facility, ensuring production targets and schedules are met.
Plan and coordinate production workflows to optimize efficiency and minimize downtime.
Monitor production output and adjust processes to maintain high-quality standards and timely deliveries.
Team Leadership:
Supervise, motivate, and lead the production team, ensuring a productive and positive working environment.
Schedule, assign tasks, and monitor team performance to ensure high levels of productivity.
Provide training and development opportunities to team members to improve skills and competencies.
Process Improvement:
Identify opportunities for process improvements to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve product quality.
Implement lean manufacturing principles, continuous improvement initiatives, and best practices to drive operational excellence.
Quality Control:
Ensure adherence to quality standards by monitoring production processes and implementing corrective actions as needed.
Work closely with quality control teams to resolve any product issues and maintain consistent product quality.
Health and Safety:
Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations in the factory.
Conduct regular safety audits, risk assessments, and safety training to minimize workplace accidents and hazards.
Inventory Management:
Oversee raw material inventory levels, ensuring adequate stock to meet production needs while minimizing waste.
Coordinate with supply chain teams to ensure timely delivery of materials and manage storage effectively.
Equipment Maintenance:
Ensure that all machinery and equipment are in good working condition, scheduling regular maintenance and repairs.
Work with the maintenance team to address any equipment failures or malfunctions swiftly to minimize downtime.
Budget and Cost Control:
Manage the factory's operational budget, ensuring costs are controlled and resources are used effectively.
Review cost reports and work with the finance department to identify cost-saving opportunities.
Reporting and Documentation:
Provide regular updates and reports to senior management on production progress, challenges, and opportunities.
Maintain accurate records related to production, inventory, safety, and personnel.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent work experience).
Proven experience in a factory management or production management role (5+ years preferred).
Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, safety regulations, and quality standards.
Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Experience with budgeting, cost control, and resource management.
Proficiency in manufacturing software (Unicommerce, etc.) is a plus
