To lead and manage all factory operations, including production, quality control, maintenance, safety, and workforce management. The Factory Head ensures timely, cost-effective, and high-quality manufacturing of furniture and wooden products while maintaining operational excellence and compliance with company standards.
Key Responsibilities:1. Production Management
Plan, organize, and oversee the entire manufacturing process to achieve production targets.
Monitor daily, weekly, and monthly production schedules to ensure timely delivery.
Coordinate with design, procurement, and project teams for smooth workflow and resource allocation.
Implement process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce waste.
2. Quality Control & Assurance
Ensure strict adherence to quality standards in all production stages (cutting, assembly, polishing, packaging, etc.).
Establish quality check procedures and address defects or rework issues promptly.
Coordinate with the Quality team for final inspection and approvals before dispatch.
3. Resource & Manpower Management
Supervise and manage supervisors, machine operators, carpenters, polishers, and helpers.
Allocate manpower and materials effectively to meet production goals.
Identify training needs and ensure skill development for factory staff.
Maintain discipline and ensure adherence to company policies and labor laws.
4. Material & Inventory Control
Ensure optimal utilization of raw materials (plywood, veneer, laminates, hardware, etc.).
Coordinate with the procurement and store teams for material availability and stock monitoring.
Minimize wastage and ensure effective use of factory resources.
5. Maintenance & Safety
Ensure regular preventive maintenance of machines and tools.
Enforce factory safety protocols, including fire safety and PPE compliance.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
6. Cost Optimization & Process Improvement
Analyze production costs and identify opportunities for cost reduction.
Drive lean manufacturing initiatives and continuous improvement programs.
Optimize layout, material flow, and machine utilization.
7. Coordination & Reporting
Liaise with management for production planning, progress updates, and issue resolution.
Prepare and submit daily/weekly/monthly reports on production, quality, and manpower.
Coordinate with dispatch/logistics for timely material movement.
Key Skills & Competencies:

In-depth knowledge of
woodworking processes, machinery, and materials

AutoCAD / production drawings

Educational Qualification & Experience:
Qualification:
Diploma / B.Tech / B.E. in Mechanical / Production / Industrial Engineering or equivalent.
Experience:
10-15 years in the
furniture or wooden manufacturing industry
, with at least 3-5 years in a leadership or factory management role.
