The Facility Manager will ensure the safe, efficient, and optimal operation of the school's physical infrastructure and services like house keeping . This role involves planning, supervising, maintaining, and improving all facilities to support a conducive educational environment for students, staff, and visitors.
Key Responsibilities
Facility Operations & Maintenance
Oversee daily operations of all school facilities including classrooms, labs, workshops, sports areas, auditoriums, and common areas.
Ensure timely preventive and corrective maintenance of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, and civil works.
Coordinate with vendors, technicians, and contractors for repairs and servicing.
Safety & Security
Implement and enforce safety, security, and emergency response protocols.
Monitor security systems (CCTV, access control), fire safety equipment, and evacuation plans.
Conduct regular safety audits and risk assessments.
Infrastructure & Asset Management
Maintain accurate records of school assets, equipment, and inventory.
Plan and oversee asset procurement, replacement, and disposal.
Ensure optimal utilization of space and infrastructure.
Compliance & Standards
Ensure all facilities comply with CBSE guidelines, local laws, and statutory regulations (fire, health, environment, building codes).
Prepare compliance reports for internal and regulatory audits.
Budgeting & Cost Control
Prepare annual maintenance budgets, forecast expenditures, and monitor cost control.
Evaluate vendor contracts and negotiate competitive rates.
Team Leadership
Supervise facility staff (security personnel, gardeners, maintenance crew, housekeeping teams).
Conduct regular training on safety, service standards, and operational procedures.
Event & Logistics Support
Provide logistical support for school events, examinations, meetings, and other activities requiring facility arrangement.
Coordinate setup, seating, lighting, and utilities for special functions.
Qualifications
Essential:
Bachelor's degree in Facility Management, Engineering (Civil/Electrical/Mechanical), Business Administration, or related discipline.
Desirable:
Diploma/Certification in Facility & Safety Management.
Experience with educational institutions is a plus.
Experience
3-6 years
of relevant experience in facility/operations management -- preferably in schools, colleges, hospitals, hotels, or corporate campuses.
Proven track record of handling day-to-day operational issues and facilities planning.
