Job Description

A fabrication in-charge is responsible for overseeing daily fabrication operations, ensuring projects are completed safely, on time, and to quality standards

Responsibilities

Team Management:

Supervise, train, and mentor the fabrication team; conduct performance evaluations and address staff concerns.

Production Oversight:

Manage daily operations, monitor production schedules to ensure timely project completion, and ensure all fabricated products meet quality standards and engineering specifications.

Safety and Compliance:

Implement and enforce safety protocols, ensure the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE), and guarantee compliance with all safety regulations.

Process and Quality Control:

Troubleshoot fabrication problems, identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce costs, and maintain quality control procedures throughout the fabrication process.

Qualifications and skills

Education:

High school diploma or equivalent required; a technical degree is often preferred.

Experience:

Several years of experience in a fabrication or manufacturing environment, with proven supervisory experience.

Technical Knowledge:

Strong understanding of fabrication processes, machinery, tools, and the ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
