Job Description

A Fabrication Planning Engineer's role involves overseeing the fabrication process, ensuring projects are the key responsibilities and skills required for this role:

Key Responsibilities:

- Process Planning: Develop manufacturing plans, including specific sequencing with process and tooling requirements.

- Design and Development: Design and develop fabrication processes for new and existing products, evaluating and improving manufacturing efficiency and quality.

- Collaboration: Work with cross-functional teams, including design, production, and quality assurance, to ensure seamless integration of fabrication activities.

- Quality Control: Verify structural integrity, troubleshoot defects, and ensure compliance with specifications.

- Safety Compliance: Enforce safety protocols, use of PPE, and adherence to OSHA standards.

- Cost Management: Monitor process yields and costs, recommend and implement quality improvements.

Essential Skills:

- Technical Skills: Proficiency in CAD software, CNC programming, and automation systems.

- Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to troubleshoot issues and implement corrective actions.

- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to collaborate with teams and report progress to management.

- Organizational Skills: Strong organizational capabilities to manage multiple projects simultaneously and ensure timely delivery.

Qualifications:

- Education: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.

- Experience: 3+ years of experience in a fabrication or manufacturing role.

- Certifications: Knowledge of lean manufacturing and Six Sigma principles is desirable.
