Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Production Engineer to join our dynamic team at Elevate Parking Systems LLP. In this role, you will play a key part in the manufacturing of automated car parking systems, ensuring efficient production processes, quality control, and timely delivery of products like hydraulic stackers and mechanical lifts. You will collaborate with design, procurement, and quality teams to optimize workflows, troubleshoot issues, and implement lean manufacturing practices in a fast-paced mechanical engineering environment. The ideal candidate is proactive, technically proficient, and committed to safety and innovation in manufacturing.

Key Responsibilities

Responsibilities are categorized to align with performance expectations and include measurable targets where applicable.

Task Excellence (Planning, Execution & Control)

Prepare and implement daily, weekly, and monthly production plans aligned with project schedules and priorities, targeting 90-95% schedule adherence. Conduct daily fabrication toolbox meetings with team members to communicate safety protocols, production targets, and process updates; maintain signed log records. Monitor planned vs. executed timelines for each job, segment, or project, ensuring minimal deviations. Maintain a daily log for all fabrication machines, capturing run hours, performance metrics, and downtime to optimize equipment utilization. Ensure zero backlog in ERP updates, including material movement, production completion, and inspection status. Uphold neat, organized, and safe work areas in the fabrication section, achieving 100% compliance with 5S principles and safety standards.

Process Improvement & Quality Excellence

Implement and sustain a "First Time Right" fabrication policy, aiming for ?95% first-pass acceptance rate. Conduct First-Part QC verification for every new batch to ensure process accuracy before commencing full production. Maintain comprehensive inspection records for all fabricated components, linked to project documentation for traceability. Identify and implement cost reduction measures by minimizing wastage of raw materials, consumables, and rework; maintain a wastage logbook and achieve year-over-year reductions in scrap percentage. Design, fabricate, and introduce fixtures, jigs, and setup improvements to reduce production time and enhance accuracy. Plan and execute weekly/monthly machine maintenance schedules, achieving 100% completion rate for planned maintenance.

Team Leadership & Training

Conduct weekly and monthly skill training sessions for fabrication technicians, welders, and helpers on standard operating procedures (SOPs), safety, and quality. Ensure at least one skill enhancement initiative per quarter, such as training on new welding methods or layout optimization. Assist HR in assessing KPIs/KRAs for blue-collar staff by providing accurate data on attendance, efficiency, and performance. Promote teamwork, safety awareness, and discipline within the fabrication section through consistent communication and proactive problem-solving. Lead by example, offering technical guidance and fostering a collaborative environment.

Coordination & Workflow Optimization

Plan for smooth and continuous flow of fabricated materials to painting and dispatch sections, minimizing idle time or congestion. Coordinate with design, quality, and dispatch teams on drawing revisions, quality standards, and delivery priorities. Maintain traceability records for fabricated parts from production through to painting and final assembly. Conduct weekly inter-departmental meetings to ensure seamless handovers and eliminate rework loops. Support production management in load balancing and shift planning to maximize throughput.

Client Relations & Recognition (Indirect Performance Contribution)

Ensure all fabricated components meet client quality and dimensional expectations through robust internal quality controls. Participate in client or consultant visits, demonstrating fabrication readiness, quality assurance, and production capabilities. Maintain zero deviations in client specifications during audits or inspections. Document and share client appreciation or feedback related to fabrication performance with the Production Head.

Identifying / Researching & Exploring New Opportunities

Continuously research and propose new fabrication technologies, tooling, or materials to improve accuracy and reduce cycle times. Study competitor practices and market trends to benchmark Elevate Parking's manufacturing standards. Suggest and pilot at least one process automation or design simplification project per year. Identify and document potential cost-saving initiatives in areas like material utilization, energy efficiency, and setup time reduction. Support management in feasibility analysis for new product or parking model fabrication requirements.

Safety & Maintenance Management

Conduct daily pre-shift machine checks and ensure immediate reporting of any unsafe conditions. Maintain machine maintenance logs with planned and preventive cycles. Achieve zero recordable accident rate in the fabrication shop through awareness programs, audits, and strict enforcement of PPE usage. Conduct monthly safety audits and toolbox sessions.

Reporting & Documentation

Submit accurate daily, weekly, and monthly production reports summarizing performance, delays, and corrective actions. Maintain all inspection records, process checklists, and calibration logs as per the internal QA system. Support ERP and MIS reporting by ensuring real-time data entry and traceability of fabrication output.

Cost Efficiency & Resource Management

Achieve targeted material utilization rates (e.g., <3% scrap generation). Reduce consumable usage (e.g., gas, wire, grinding disks) by enhancing operator discipline. Ensure optimum manpower deployment per shift and minimize overtime costs. Participate in monthly cost review meetings to identify and address areas of overspend.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering, or a related field.

Diploma or certification in fabrication, welding, or quality management (e.g., ISO 9001, Lean Manufacturing) is preferred.

Experience

5-7 years of hands-on experience in manufacturing, preferably in heavy metal fabrication, welding, or assembly processes within the automotive, engineering, or heavy machinery sector. Experience with hydraulic systems, structural steel fabrication, or automated equipment manufacturing is highly desirable. Proven track record in production planning, quality control, and team management in a project-based environment.

Skills

Proficiency in fabrication techniques (e.g., welding processes like MIG/TIG/CO2, cutting, bending) and tools (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks/Solid edge). Strong knowledge of quality tools (e.g., QC Tools, PPAP, FMEA, 8D, PDCA, Kaizen, Poka-Yoke) and lean principles (e.g., 5S, TPM, OEE). Familiarity with ERP / SAP systems for production tracking and inventory management. Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills. Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and lead cross-functional teams. Commitment to safety standards and regulatory compliance.
