Role Summary

The Fabric Sourcing Manager will lead end-to-end sourcing of fabrics and trims for apparel programs, ensuring cost competitiveness, quality consistency, and reliable lead times. This role carries strong commercial ownership, directly impacting margins through supplier negotiation, cost control, and sourcing strategy, while aligning with buyer requirements and compliance standards.

Key Responsibilities

Lead sourcing of cotton and regular apparel fabrics, along with trims, for continuous production programs Identify, develop, and manage fabric and trim suppliers across India and overseas, as per buyer requirements Own fabric cost negotiations and drive margin improvement through strategic sourcing decisions Work closely with merchandising and production teams to ensure fabric availability as per T&A Drive lead-time reduction through supplier alignment, process improvements, and advance planning Ensure compliance with Indian IEC regulations and buyer-specific codes and standards Evaluate fabric quality, performance, and consistency to meet program requirements Manage MOQ optimization, booking strategy, and inventory risk mitigation Proactively identify sourcing risks and implement contingency plans Maintain accurate sourcing data, cost sheets, and supplier documentation

Strong expertise in apparel fabric and trim sourcing Deep understanding of fabric costing, negotiation, and margin impact Ability to balance cost, quality, and lead time in a fast-paced environment Strong supplier relationship management and commercial judgment High ownership mindset with strong problem-solving skills Effective cross-functional coordination and communication

Qualification & Experience

Bachelor's degree in Textile Technology / Fashion / Apparel or equivalent 10-15 years of hands-on experience in fabric and trim sourcing Proven exposure to domestic and international suppliers Experience working with continuous programs and buyer compliance requirements
