Job Summary

The Fabric Manager oversees all fabric development, sourcing, and production processes to ensure quality, cost-effectiveness, and timely delivery. This role serves as the key link between design, production, and vendors, managing fabric libraries, testing, approvals, and sustainability initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

Manage end-to-end fabric development from concept to bulk production. Source and negotiate with mills, suppliers, and vendors for pricing, lead times, and quality. Approve lab dips, strike-offs, and handlooms to ensure alignment with design intent. Maintain the seasonal fabric library and database, ensuring accurate technical and cost information. Oversee fabric testing for performance, colorfastness, shrinkage, and compliance standards. Collaborate with design and product development teams to select appropriate fabrics based on aesthetics, function, and cost. Monitor production schedules to prevent fabric delays and shortages. Implement sustainability and traceability standards across the fabric sourcing process. Stay updated on fabric trends, innovations, and market developments.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in

, or a related field.

5+ years

of experience in fabric sourcing, development, or textile production (preferably in apparel or home textiles). Strong understanding of textile construction, weaving, knitting, dyeing, and finishing. Excellent negotiation, communication, and vendor management skills. Proficient in Microsoft Excel, PLM systems, and ERP software. Knowledge of sustainability standards (e.g., GOTS, OEKO-TEX, BCI) is a plus.
