Your Role and Responsibilities
We are looking for a highly motivated colleague to join the IBM India/South Asia communications team.
In this role, you will be responsible for portraying IBM\'s key messages and narratives with media and key influencers and collaborating with other IBM organizations to articulate and effectively communicate IBM\'s value proposition. You will be required to develop communications plans and strategies, collaborate on messaging that helps the company\'s mission, and supports the business with messages and success stories that promote IBM\'s leadership. You will also be required to help drive visibility for IBM key businesses via media by managing effective relationships, collaborating across IBM to develop unified influencer plans to increase the understanding of IBM strategies and offerings in the market, conditioning the market using the analysts well in advance of key announcements and driving market leadership/differentiation overall.

The External Relations professional is expected to protect and enhance IBM\xe2\x80\x99s brand by pro-actively creating compelling messaging and differentiated position in influencing media to drive positive impact with clients, business partners, industry bodies, governments, influencers, and alumni.

Key responsibilities as an integrated communications professional

  • Develop and execute a 360-degree and execute corporate communications strategy- Element of external, internal, and social
  • Manage media to ensure maximum visibility for IBM\'s key business
  • Strong understanding of social media and leveraging social for brand advocacy
  • Effective in managing stakeholders across the value chain and building a diverse portfolio of networks that will shape IBM\'s positioning positively
  • Be innovative to enhance and elevate IBM\'s brand image in the India/South Asia market - by engaging with traditional and new age media, social and digital platforms, and effective influencer outreach program
KEY SKILLS
  • Atleast 6 - 8 years of experience in PR / Corporate communications with strong media relations, technology PR and understanding of content development suited for different audiences and platforms, presentation skills, social media skills, and understanding of the tech industry
  • Well-rounded media relations and employee communications experience across business units and functions
  • Experience in integrated employee communications campaigns, including social media
  • Exceptional written, verbal communication and interpersonal skills
  • Clear understanding and articulation of the business objectives in communication campaigns
  • Expertise in program and campaign management
  • Excellent teamwork and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to work creatively and analytically and aptitude for problem-solving
  • Outcome-focused and committed to measurable results
  • Content management skills ( content creation, publishing, social media content, understanding of video, podcast and new age avenues of communication delivery)

Required Technical and Professional Expertise
