The Export-Import Manager will be responsible for managing end-to-end international trade operations for automotive components, including DAP/DDP shipments, US Warehousing coordination, Sub-Invoicing, Pipeline planning, BRC management, and bank payment follow-ups. The role ensures smooth logistics execution, statutory compliance, timely realization of export proceeds, and effective coordination with internal and external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
Export & Import Operations
Manage complete export and import cycle for automotive components from order receipt to final delivery.
Prepare, review, and control export/import documentation including commercial invoices, packing lists, sub-invoices, shipping bills, BL/AWB, Insurance, and compliance documents.
Coordinate with freight forwarders, CHA, shipping lines, transporters, and overseas agents.
Ensure accurate costing of freight, insurance, inland transportation, warehousing, and destination charges.
Resolve last-mile delivery, customs, and transit issues with overseas partners.
Warehousing Management
Coordinate with overseas warehouses for storage, consolidation, and dispatch of automotive components.
Monitor inventory levels, FIFO compliance, aging stock, and space utilization.
Ensure accurate warehouse documentation and ERP reconciliation.
Sub-Invoicing & Financial Coordination
Manage sub-invoicing for partial shipments, split orders, or customer-specific billing structures.
Coordinate with finance for invoice posting, GST implications, duty reconciliation, and credit/debit notes.
Ensure alignment between commercial invoices, shipping documents, and bank submissions.
Pipeline Planning & Order Tracking
Prepare and monitor export pipeline planning in coordination with sales, production, and logistics teams.
Track order status, production readiness, shipment schedules, and inventory availability.
Forecast shipment volumes and logistics capacity to ensure on-time deliveries.
BRC & Bank Payment Follow-Up
Ensure timely submission of export documents to banks for BRC (Bank Realization Certificate).
Follow up with banks and customers for realization of export proceeds.
Track LC, DP, DA, and advance payments and resolve discrepancies.
Maintain accurate records of BRCs for audits, incentives, and compliance purposes.
Compliance & Risk Management
Ensure compliance with DGFT, customs, GST, FEMA, RBI, and export control regulations.
Monitor policy changes related to automotive exports and international trade.
Handle customs audits, bank audits, and statutory inspections.
Reporting & Continuous Improvement
Prepare MIS reports covering pipeline status, DAP costs, warehousing performance, payment realization, and BRC status.
Identify logistics and financial process improvements to reduce cost and cycle time.
Support ISO / IATF / internal audits related to export operations.
Qualifications & Experience
Education
Bachelor's degree in International Business, Logistics, Supply Chain, Commerce, or Finance.
Export-Import or Logistics certification preferred.
Experience
10-15 years of experience in export-import operations, preferably in automotive components industry.
Skills & Competencies
Strong knowledge of Incoterms , HS codes, customs procedures, and export documentation.
Good understanding of banking procedures, export payments, and FEMA regulations.
Proficiency in ERP systems and MS Excel.
Excellent coordination, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Strong communication with overseas customers, banks, and internal teams.
