Responsibilities

What will you do?


As a Data Solution Architect in the Data Services organization, you will bring your talent, passion, energy and focus to work every day as an active participant in the build out of our Global Data Platforms. The Data Architect will work closely with the business, solutioning, Cloud Operations and development teams to make sure the data management standards and governance are being adhered to and respected. This position will define, drive, and implement data architecture to support Data Ingestion into next generation data platforms aligned with our cloud strategies while enabling advanced analytics. The hired candidate will document models or views to show how the current and future needs of the organization will be met in an efficient, sustainable, agile and adaptable manner.Provide architectural expertise in defining and driving the right solution to meet the technical performance, scalability, flexibility, operations and capability needs. Design and engineering of data lake by data source identification, data extraction, data modelling, database design and user self-service capabilities. Complete Data Architecture governance and Quality Assurance reviews to ensure compliance with architectural standards for coding and service combinations. Perform assessments (Proof of Concepts) of the latest tools and technology to solution and define the future technology roadmap. Lead, mentor, and support the Data Services team with methodologies, tools and technical knowledge while acting as interface between the Global and regional teams. Provide feedback to the delivery and management teams to improve data acquisition (structured and unstructured), warehousing methodologies and tools. Participate in and be aware of product features and their value realization

What skills and capabilities will make you successful?

3+ years of Hands-on experience in AWS services including but not limited to: S3, KMS, Lambda, Glue (or Spark), SQS, EventBridge. 2+ years of hand on experience in writing clean, modular, testable, and maintainable code using functional or OOP principle. Good understanding of AWS networking concepts: VPC, subnets, routing, NAT gateways, security groups. Proficiency in IAM concepts: roles, policies, assume-role, and cross-account access. Good experience in at least one programming language such as Python, Scala, Java etc Willingness to learn Python/PySpark if not already experienced. Good understanding of Spark architecture, execution plans, and performance tuning. Strong SQL skills and experience with Redshift and/or Athena, or any other distributed compute engines. Experience in writing and maintaining Terraform scripts. Familiarity with Git, GitHub workflows, and CI/CD tools like Jenkins. Exposure to data lake architectures and data governance practices. Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools (e.g., CloudWatch). Advanced cloud and on-premise knowledge of NoSQL database structures including AWS DynamoDB, MongoDB, etc. Knowledge of Data Management, Integration and Data Quality tools spanning No-code, low-code and code-first methodologies, such as: Alteryx, Trifacta, Informatica Power Center, Informatica Cloud, Databricks etc.,

Must have solid presentation, communication (on complex technical solutions) and inter-personal skills. Ability to work effectively with globally dispersed stakeholders from business. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. A data-driven mindset, ability to clearly communicate complex business problems and technical solutions. Ability to manage and make decisions about competing priorities and resources. Ability to delegate where appropriate Must be a strong team player

Who will you report to?

The position will report into the Manager of Data Operations for Data Ingestion. The individual is expected to interface with other peers within Global Technology Services - Data Platforms organization. The individual will closely collaborate with our Data Governance and PMO organizations to ensure our delivery meets our process standards.


Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT Management, technology or equivalent experience in data management, integration or data warehousing. 7+ years of experience in a progressively advanced role or a Masters degree with 4+ years of similar experience.
