The Boeing Company is currently looking for an Experienced Structural Design Engineer - Windows to join the Mechanical & Structures Engineering Team located at Bangalore, India.

Position Responsibilities:

• Supporting all BCA airplanes thru full lifecycle. The Puget Sound Windows Design Center is a comprehensive design center supporting all facets of the product lifecycle (product development, new programs, production support, and fleet/in-service support) across all product lines including the 707, 727, 737, 757, 767, 777, 787 and future programs.
• Windshields are complex structural composite parts with internal electrical heating elements that need to meet strict optical requirements. The Windows Engineer collaborates closely with many groups internal to Boeing BCA such as Flight Deck Engineering/Crew Ops, ECS Ice & Rain, Electrical Systems/Sub-Systems/Wiring, EME, Interiors, Contracting, and BGS (CAS). Collaboration with our window suppliers, sub component supplier, and customers are also part of our daily work.
• Design and support certification of new or revised window configurations.
• Windows technical support for factory/flight-line damage assessment and evaluations.
• Supplier management support for cost reduction efforts, assessment of vendor charges, and vendor production support.
• Fleet support, including telex support, maintenance document support, warrantee determinations and SRP's.
• Support develop windshield and passenger window requirements
• This position will be responsible to develop technical solutions to a wide range of difficult problems that are imaginative, thorough, practicable, and consistent with organization objectives.
• In this role, the Engineer independently determines and develops approaches to solutions to come up with conceptual and detailed designs based on the requirements. And Pro-actively receives general direction for work that is reviewed upon completion for adequacy in meeting objectives and to successfully complete the statement of work.
• Will participate in activities related to mechanical design, analysis and optimization of wide range of mechanical structures and products.
• Completely understands and applies job practices, techniques, standards, principles, theories, and concepts.
• This position will be responsible for coordinating and communicating regularly with team members and engineering managers in Boeing organizations and shall provide periodic update on project progress, quality metrics, project summaries, and other related documents.
• Develops, maintains, or modifies mechanical system, component and installation designs, using 3-D Computer Aided Engineering tools and/or other design methods, to provide product definition to other engineering groups, production operations, suppliers and external customers throughout the product lifecycle.
• This position will participate and support initiatives of Boeing India organization related to engineering excellence, employee development, customer engagement etc.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

• Bachelor Or Master degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, Aeronautical, Applied Mechanics, Structural Engineering and equivalent disciplines
• 8-11 Years of relevant Work experience.
• 5 or more years' of experience in aircraft structure, landing gear, doors and windows, materials and properties, design criteria and release processes.
• Knowledge of structural design, mechanical design, material properties, awareness of Industry standards for structural and mechanical systems design.
• Advanced knowledge of design concepts and techniques (e.g., concurrent engineering, Design for Manufacture/Assembly [DFM/A]).
• Knowledge of various engineering disciplines such as mechanical, electrical, electro-mechanical and hydraulic systems.
• Ability to communicate with technical personnel from multiple skill areas and functions to evaluate technical information and issues impacting design, production, and support of products, services, or other deliverables.
• Knowledge and experience with engineering design tools (CATIA, ENOVIA, NX, CREO, TeamCenter PDM, etc) for Modeling, Drafting & Model Based Definition is essential.
• Able to work under guidance with positive attitude and highest ethics.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

• Good communication skills and willingness to work with other groups, suppliers, and our customers.
• Desire to learn.
• Good knowledge of New Product development process.
• Good understanding of aircraft certification processes and lifecycle.
• Knowledge of stress analysis, structural design & mechanical design.
• Thorough understanding of GD&T.
• CATIA V5 skills and configuration management skills are a plus.
• Optical design, Composite design, integration of complex systems are a plus.
• Familiarity with project management is a plus.
• Knowledge of PDM/PLM tools such as ENOVIA or Team Center.
• Able to verify accuracy of technical and non-technical data. Gathers relevant data for root cause analysis and produces changes to resolve the discrepancies in design packages.
• Must be able to work collaboratively with cross-functional team. Must be willing to work flexible hours (early or late as needed) to interface with Boeing personnel around the world.

Typical Education & Experience:

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced education (e.g. Bachelor, Master) and typically 8 to 11 years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. Master+ 6 to 9 years' related work experience etc.)
